Landscaping Products
There are several types of landscaping sand including:
Fill Sand – primarily used for golf courses, horse arenas and Equestrians Centers.
Play Sand – is fine and soft and washed. It is used in recreational parks, child care center play areas and sand boxes.
Masonry Sand – which is very coarse. It is used for many residential, industrial and commercial landscaping applications such as paving.
Cushion Sand – Primarily used as a back fill when trenching or underneath ready-mixed concrete to level the ground or surface prior to paving. Because of its low cost compared to Topsoil, some Homebuilders use Cushion Sand to finish off the yard of a new home prior to sodding or seeding. We do not recommend using cushion sand for your landscape projects because Cushion Sand has no organic composition. Cushion Sand has an exceptionally low percentage, if any, of clay content. Therefore, it can easily wash away if it lies in the path of a downpour.
